Couture 2018 blurs the line between Interior Design and Fashion – by using architectural finish materials to create original couture creations. Earlier this year, we randomly matched teams of both Student and Professional Interior Designers with two Vendors/Manufacturers (a company which typically provides materials in the Interior Design industry – such as carpet or fabric or tile) - one "hard" and one "soft" - and assigned a hero or villian. They were then to use the colors from one of the three color pallets from the Sherwin Williams COLORMIX 2018 Color Forecast to create their own unique “Couture” fashion – with the sole use of the assigned manufacturer’s material. The real fun comes when they model their fashion on the Couture 2018 runway – competing against their peers and showing off their creativity!
The Couture event has been described as outrageous, highly conceptual, laughable, risqué, political, silly – and most of all – FUN! This year’s Couture will be just as enjoyable. Teams and the garments they create are judged on creativity, use of materials supplied by their assigned manufacturers, craftsmanship, use of the colors within the color forecast, and overall enthusiasm.
Doors and bars open at 5PM, fashion show starts promptly at 6PM. After party to immediately follow.
