How can healthcare environments support patients, families evolving safety standards and system throughout, all without compromising performance? Using a primary research approach, the Steelcase Workspace Futures team interviewed patients and facilities management to understand waiting environments post-pandemic. The team compiled a summary of patient needs and expectations, along with priorities of facilities management; research culminates in a tactical offering of 5 data-informed design principles to consider in outpatient and in-patient healthcare settings.
